Asthma Rates are Rising

The number of American asthmatics has risen significantly in recent years. the most recent data available, which is from 2010, shows that the percentage of asthmatics in the American population is higher than ever, at almost 1 in 12 people.

There are many hypotheses as to why asthma rates are rising: growing obesity rates, and environmental triggers being near the top. Currently, almost 8 million children, and almost 20 million adults are diagnosed with asthma. Although it is possible to recover from asthma, many adults are expected to have this condition for the rest of their lives.
